Description

The Organization seeks to unlock the power of the tech community to tackle social issues. From poverty to education access to improving health to environmental degradation, the Organization believes that technology can impact lives at a scale unmatched in human history. Through its Accelerator for Tech Nonprofits program, the Organization looks for product-driven nonprofits working to leverage open source software, always connected mobile devices, open APIs, and inexpensive variable cost Web infrastructure to solve education, environmental, health and human rights issues. When it identifies a nonprofit it would like to support, the Organization provides financial and human capital to help scale the nonprofit’s technology solution and maximize its impact. Nonprofits selected to participate in the Organization’s program will receive a $25,000 grant, 13 weeks of summer training in San Francisco, and connections to network mentors. Additional information along with application instructions can be found on the Web site.
