Rainbow Endowment

DescriptionThe Endowment supports national efforts to encourage positive physical and mental health, promote increased visibility, and advance full participation and access to social, cultural, and civic life for the gay and lesbian community. Two areas currently supported are health and community. Under health, organizations of interest promote awareness of gay and lesbian mental and physical health issues; advocate for and develop public policy for equal health care treatment or equal access; or advocate for and develop public policy to prevent further HIV/AIDS infection and improve the lives of those with HIV/AIDS. Community grants are made to protect lesbian and gay rights; promote coalitions that work to strengthen advocacy efforts to improve conditions; and to develop policies that benefit lesbian and gay youth and children of lesbian and gay families. Proposals may be submitted at any time. All applications must be submitted electronically by midnight on the deadline date.
