DescriptionThe Fund supports women’s groups that advance the human rights of women and girls. Grants strengthen women’s rights groups based outside of the United States. The Fund values local expertise and believes that women themselves know best how to determine their needs and propose solutions for lasting change. Of particular interest are organizations that demonstrate a clear commitment to women’s equality and women’s human rights, those that are governed and directed by women, and those based outside of the United States. The Fund awards three types of grants: general support grants, travel and event grants, and organizing meeting/event grants. Proposals are accepted in any language and in any format. Grants are awarded based on criteria and priorities determined in partnership with women’s rights activists working on the ground. Additional information is available on the Web site.
