DescriptionThe privately held, outdoor clothing and gear Company's environmental grants program funds projects that are action-oriented; build public involvement and support; are strategic; focus on root causes; accomplish specific goals and objectives; and take place in communities in which the company does business. Of particular interest are small, grassroots activist organizations with provocative direct-action agendas. Grants do not fund general environmental education efforts; research unless it's in direct support of a developed plan for specific action to alleviate an environmental problem; land acquisition/trusts/conservation easements; endowment funds; or political campaigns. Proposals should be no longer than four pages.
