Bread & Roses Community Fund

Description

The Fund offers support for social justice projects in the Delaware Valley, which includes five Pennsylvania counties (Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery) as well as Camden County, New Jersey. The Fund represents a group of donors and activists who are committed to promoting social justice and is seeking applicants for three of its funds. The Racial and Economic Justice Fund supports groups that engage in community organizing to promote racial and economic justice at the local, state, national, or international policy levels. Grants for this fund range from $5,000 to $10,000. The Future Fund supports new and emerging groups or organizations that are new to Bread & Roses and that are beginning to work to change the balance of power between their community and those in positions of power. Grants for this fund range between $2,000 and $6,000. The Media Justice Fund supports organizations working to address media policy, infrastructure, or accountability in a way that ensures the rights of all people and communities to have their information and communication needs met. Grants in this fund range from $5,000 to $10,000. Applicants must have an organizational and/or distinct project budget that’s less than $150,000. They must also have long-term vision and engage in strategies that promote social justice. People affected by the problem being addressed should compose the majority of the organization’s leadership.
