DescriptionThe Foundation supports watershed stewardship in the Pacific Northwest. Also of interest are projects that seek to contribute to a heightened awareness of the ecological, social, and economic significance of watersheds. Criteria for potentially successful watershed strategies include community engagement, ecosystem function, best science, adaptive management, transferable concepts, watershed protection or restoration, watershed education, and watershed advocacy. Grants are made to organizations in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington. The Foundation requests that applicants send a letter of inquiry.
