Jeht Foundation
Category: Social Change
DescriptionThe Foundation’s acronym stands for Justice, Equality, Human Dignity, and Tolerance. The Foundation’s programs reflect these interests and values. Under justice, the Foundation supports programs addressing criminal and international justice. Under equality, fair and participatory elections, especially promoting the integrity and fairness of democratic elections in the United States, are of primary interest. Palliative care is the main emphasis for Human Dignity grants. In May 2006, the Foundation made seven grants to support the sustainability of centers of excellence on palliative care in health care institutions throughout the country that can provide training for institutions seeking to create similar programs. Thus new proposals in this area are not being accepted. Proposals addressing policy research on palliative care are by invitation only. The Foundation reviews grant requests on an ongoing basis.
