Abbott Fund
Category: Health
DescriptionThe Fund focuses its grantmaking on creative ideas that promote science and medical innovation; access to health care; and strengthen communities worldwide. The Fund, the philanthropic arm of Abbott Laboratories, strives to make a lasting impact on people’s lives. Grantmaking is targeted toward four programs: global AIDS care, access to health care, science and medical innovation, and community vitality. Priority is given to those programs that demonstrate measurable results or health outcomes; create potential for program replication by other funders; and utilize innovative and sustainable approaches. Applications for the global AIDS care grants are by invitation only. Community vitality grants are awarded in areas where Abbott has facilities. A list is available on the Web site. Applicants are asked to complete an eligibility test. Those that pass the test receive access to the online application. Additional information is available on the Web site.
