The Mockingbird Foundation
Category: Music
DescriptionThe Foundation is a nonprofit organization of fans of the band, Phish, which was founded to raise money for charity. Naturally, the funding focus is on music education for children. Of interest are projects that encourage and foster creative expression in any musical form; those that focus on education and foster self-esteem and free expression; and those that target children 18 years and younger. The Foundation encourages applications associated with diverse or unusual musical styles, genres, forms, and philosophies. It does not fund music therapy programs although it is particularly interested in programs, which benefit disenfranchised groups. The Foundation will occasionally consider projects that benefit college students, teachers, instructors, or adult students. Letters of inquiry are considered in two funding cycles: February 1 and August 1 and must be submitted using the online form.
