: Violence/Law/Criminal Justice

Description

The Fund supports public interest litigation that will potentially benefit a large number of people and lead to significant law reform, or raise public consciousness. Funding is awarded in the areas of poverty law, environmental justice, and civil and human rights. Of particular interest are projects that address systemic deprivations of constitutional or statutory rights in the following areas: post 9/11 cases involving denial of rights under the guise of Homeland Security; criminal justice and immigration; and educational access and equity. Applicants are asked to send a letter of inquiry explaining the case, its potential impact, and the financial necessity for a grant. Pre-application proposals are requested.
