DescriptionThe Foundation was formed in 1998, the result of a merger between Cenex Foundation and Harvest States Foundation. The CHS Foundation is committed to investing in the future of rural America, agriculture, and cooperative business through education and leadership development. Grantmaking is targeted at the following issues: rural youth leadership development; returning value to rural communities; cooperative education; farm and agricultural safety; emergency assistance and disaster relief; and agricultural and cooperative scholarships. Funding requests are accepted throughout the year with the exception of requests for cooperative education, which are due Sept. 30, 2007. All requests for funding must be completed online.
