: Health

Description

The Fund, the philanthropic arm of M*A*C Cosmetics, supports men, women, and children affected by HIV/AIDS around the world. The Fund is supported by sales of the Company’s VIVA GLAM lipsticks. Grants are made in the following areas: the link between poverty and AIDS, models of care, treatment adherence, and prevention. Under the link between poverty and AIDS, funding is provided for basic needs such as food and housing to those living with HIV/AIDS. Models of care funding is earmarked for hospitals as well as for increasing the number of doctors and nurses in countries that need it the most. Treatment adherence grants support the development of peer-based programs to help people adhere to their treatment regimes. Prevention funding is focused on high-risk populations such as youth, people over 50, African Americans, and Caribbean and African women living in Western cities. Applicants are asked to send two hard copies of the completed application. Additional information is available on the Web site.
