DescriptionThe Foundation’s 2008 Citizen Activist Award honors those who have struggled to correct social injustice in the United States through positive social change. The Foundation honors international activities on alternate years. Honorees will share $100,000 and receive a specially commissioned sculpture designed by Maya Lin, creator of the Vietnam War Memorial. The award is not presented posthumously nor is it given to groups or organizations. Additional information including a nomination form is available on the Web site. Applications will not be accepted by fax or email.
