National Anti-vivisection Society

Category

: Animals & Wildlife

Description

The Society’s Sanctuary Fund serves animals in emergency situations, where immediate intervention is necessary. The Fund is national in scope. Although the Society’s primary focus is on laboratory animals, the Fund considers emergency requests for all animals, not just those used in research. Priority funding is given to victims of natural disasters. Secondary funding is targeted for the relocation of animals that have been used in research facilities, roadside zoos, and the entertainment industry to a safe, permanent sanctuary. Other priorities include wildlife rehabilitation as well as unique approaches to alleviate or prevent animal suffering, such as spay/neuter programs.
