DescriptionCreated by DeWitt and Lila Acheson Wallace, the creators of The Reader’s Digest Association, the Foundation solicits proposals from organizations it has pre-identified. But it does accept one- to two-page letters of inquiry. The Foundation focuses on three areas when awarding funds: strengthening educational leadership in ways that significantly improve student achievement; helping selected cities make high-quality out-of-school learning opportunities available to many more children; and making the arts a part of many more people’s lives by building both present and future arts audiences.
