DescriptionEstablished in 1981, the Foundation?s grantmaking is focused on environmental protection in the Western United States. The Foundation is particularly concerned with protection and preservation of the Rocky Mountain West?s remaining wild lands, rivers, and wilderness, as well as the wildlife that depends on these lands. The Foundation?s geographic areas of interest includes: Colorado, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming. Priority is given to small local and regional grassroots organizations working to improve public lands, protect biological diversity, and defend wildlands.
