DescriptionThe Foundation is the philanthropic vehicle for best-selling author Nora Roberts. The Foundation believes that literacy is a human right and it has made supporting literacy organizations its highest priority. Grants are also awarded in the following categories: arts, children, social justice, and the environment. The Foundation awards both local and non-local grants. Local grants are awarded to counties in Maryland (Allegany, Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Baltimore City, Caroll, Frederick, Howard, Montgomery, Prince George's, and Washington); Pennsylvania (Franklin, Fulton); Virginia (Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun); West Virginia (Berkeley, Jefferson, Morgan); and Washington DC.
