Organization For Autism Research
Category: Disabilities
DescriptionThe Organization's mission is to apply research to the challenges of autism. The Organization's Peer Education Grant Program helps children to learn about autism. Children who learn about their peers' diagnosis develop better, more inclusive relationships with their autistic peers. The Program awards schools with a Kit for Kids materials and funds to support relevant educational activities. The Program supports projects that use the peer education materials to increase awareness and acceptance of their autistic peers. Teachers, administrators, parents, youth group organizers, and autism professionals interested in organizing an autism awareness initiative at a school or other community-based organization may apply.
