Description

Created by the founder of the Vick Chemical Company, manufacturing the popular Vicks Vapo-Rub, the Foundation aims to contribute to important public debates and address serious public policy challenges facing the United States as well as help ensure the vitality of social, economic, and governmental institutions and assist with the development of effective polices that enable the U.S. to compete internationally and advance U.S. interests and values abroad. The Foundation's World Politics and Statecraft Fellowship is an annual program that supports Ph.D. dissertation research on American foreign policy, international relations, international security, strategic studies, area studies, and diplomatic and military history. The Program seeks to strengthen the U.S. community of young scholars and researchers conducting policy analysis in these fields. Preference will be given to those projects that could directly inform U.S. policy debates and thinking, rather than dissertations that are principally focused on abstract theory or debates within a scholarly discipline. Complete program guidelines and application instructions can be found on the Web site.
