The Inter-american Foundation
Category: International
DescriptionThe Foundation is an independent foreign assistance agency of the United States government. It works to promote equitable, responsive, and participatory self-help development in Latin America and the Caribbean. The Foundation’s goals are to support people, organizations, and processes; channel funds directly to the non-governmental sector; promote entrepreneurship, innovation, and self-reliance; strengthen democratic principles; empower the poor to solve their own problems; and treat partners with respect and dignity. Projects are selected for funding on their merits rather than by sector. Application guidelines and additional information are available on the Web site. The Foundation will not accept faxed applications. E-mailed applications must include the country of submission in the subject line.
