The Foundation favors highly targeted projects which will have a measurable impact. The Foundation's Frontier Grant provides discretionary funds for ground-breaking ideas and strategies in education. Grants are awarded in the following educational categories: Humanities; Civics, promoting democratic ideals and inspiration from others, and the Environment (emphasizing sustainable practices and compassion for our natural world. The Foundation also awards grants in film through its Miller/Packan Film Fund and for urgent current issues, civics, and investigative journalism through its Focus Grant Program.
