DescriptionThe Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Macy’s and Bloomingdales’ retail stores. It focuses its giving on the areas of education, arts/culture, women’s issues, HIV/AIDS, and programs to assist youth and minorities. The Foundation’s principal conduit for giving is the United Way, but it does award grants to organizations nationwide. Organizations should contact the division that operates a store in their geographic area. For those unsure about which division to contact, submit a brief email with your address, your organization’s mission, and a brief description of the funding request to Foundationapps@fds.com. The email will be forwarded to the appropriate division for review. No requests are accepted by mail. Online applications only are accepted.
