Wallace Genetic Foundation
Category: Environment
DescriptionCreated in 1926 by the founder of the first commercial hybrid seed company, the Foundation’s grantmaking is targeted at a variety of interests including agricultural research, preservation of farmland, ecology, conservation, and sustainable development. Of particular interest are organizations that believe in the long-term conservation of the soil and of the environment, rather than exploitation of natural resources for temporary profits. The Foundation seeks far-sighted organizations with innovative ideas and those whose work promises long-term national or global benefit. Applicants are asked to submit a one- to two-page summary of the proposal for which support is requested. Additional requirements and information are outlined on the Web site. Faxed and emailed proposals will not be accepted.
