American Orthopaedic Society For Sports Medicine

DescriptionThe Society seeks to be the premier global sports medicine organization representing the interests of orthopaedic surgeons and other professionals who provide comprehensive health services for the care of athletes and active people of all ages and abilities. The Society's Playmaker Grant, sponsored by the Aircast Foundation, awards grants to help fund ambitious exploratory, and ground-breaking projects in orthopaedic sports medicine. The grant aims to advance exploratory projects by providing start-up funding, seed money, bridge/gap funding, or supplemental funding for an ambitious investigative team. Research priorities include preventative medicine, orthobiologics, and regenerative medicine, optimizing treatments, return to play, osteoarthritis, and cartilage. Investigative teams must include one member of the Society in good standing to be eligible. Visit the Web site for additional information and application instructions.
