The Foundationís Campus Heritage Grants program assists colleges and universities to manage and preserve the integrity of their significant historic buildings, sites, and landscapes. Projects that are eligible for funding are those that focus on campus-wide preservation initiatives. These include surveys of historic resources on campus to create a comprehensive inventory and to prepare nominations for historic designation for buildings, districts, and landscapes. Also of interest are projects involving the creation of a preservation master plan or the augmentation of an existing master plan and those that prepare detailed conservation analyses and working specifications. Projects focused primarily on single buildings or sites; basic maintenance; reconstruction or replacement of lost resources; systems upgrades; and new construction are not eligible for these particular grants. 2007 is the final year of this initiative. Letters of inquiry requested.
