Morris J. And Betty Kaplun Foundation
Category: Religion
DescriptionThe Foundation is guided by the Jewish values of human dignity and service. The Foundation supports organizations that work to mitigate the impact of racial bias in patient care and medical education. The Board works to create empathy and objectivity in healthcare by promoting anti-racist practices. The Foundation established a Youth Board to allow high school students and first-year college students to learn about the concepts of Jewish philanthropy, explore Jewish values, dive into grantmaking, and review and analyze grant proposals during a series of online board meetings over a school year. Each year, a new youth board develops its mission statement, requests proposals, and determines how to distribute $5,000 of the Foundation's funds to one or more nonprofit organizations. Visit the Web site to learn more about the Board and the Foundation.
