DescriptionThe Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the rock group Metallica and its management. Founded in 2017, the Foundation is dedicated to creating sustainable communities by supporting workforce education, the fight against hunger, and other critical local services. The group partners with various nonprofits including the American Association of Community Colleges, Feeding America and local food banks, and Direct Relief, a humanitarian aid organization. The Foundation's Metallica Scholars Program initiative partners with community colleges to help students get the instruction they need to enable them to get a higher paying job. The group also targets a portion of ticket sales in every city visited to a local charity (predominantly a food bank). Visit the Web site for more information.
