Description

The Foundation, created by the founder of Hallmark Cards, Inc., is dedicated to enhancing the quality of human life in the greater Kansas City area. Grants are made for initiatives that enrich the entire community, help all people, and promote excellence. Priority is given to organizations that profoundly shape the culture, economic, opportunity, health, and vibrancy of the Greater Kansas City area for all people. The Foundation remains flexible in its grantmaking strategies in order to participate in mission and strategy-aligned initiatives that respond to unique and important community needs and opportunities as they arise. Grantmaking also seeks to uplift the arts and culture sector with a focus on storytelling. Grants are also awarded to initiatives that promote economic inclusion and opportunity, livable neighborhoods, health care, emergency and safety net services, and creating strong educational foundations for life. The Foundation defines the Kansas City area as Jackson, Clay, and Platte counties in Missouri and Wyandotte and Johnson counties in Kansas. The Foundation has no connection with Hallmark or Hallmark Cards. Visit the Web site for additional information and application instructions.
