Awarded by the Dan David Foundation headquartered in Tel Aviv, Israel, the international history Prize aims to foster universal values of excellence, creativity, justice, democracy, and progress and to promote the scientific, technological, and humanistic achievements that advance and improve the world. Named for a philanthropist who was an ardent supporter of historical and archeological research, the Prize recognizes early and mid-career scholars and practitioners who illuminate the human past in bold and creative ways.
