DescriptionThe Foundation envisions a society where all people have a voice in their community and the opportunity to enjoy a high quality of life. The Foundation supports nonprofits that serve vulnerable populations and help individuals to become positive contributors to society for the benefit of themselves and others. The Foundation has a particular interest in funding justice initiatives with the goal of promoting a more equitable, fair and safe justice system in Connecticut, New York, and nationally. The Foundation's goal is to end mass criminalization. Grants support organizations that provide currently and formerly incarcerated people access to leadership development, education, healthcare, employment, housing, and the arts. In addition, the Foundation's Strategic Initiatives portfolio seeks to improve and enhance society by promoting innovation, access and participation in the fields of medicine, higher education, and culture in New York and Connecticut.
