DescriptionThe Foundation was named for the beloved children's book author, Theodore Geisel, aka Dr. Seuss. The Foundation's vision is a world in which all people, animals, and the environment are valued and thriving. The Foundation awards grants to help improve literacy and learning, which are essential to the multi-layered worlds of the arts and humanities, health and well-being, animal welfare, and the environment. While applicants need not be headquartered in California, the Foundation focuses its support on projects in the state.
