Kurt Schork Memorial Fund

Category

: Social Change

Description

The Fund seeks to support journalists that the late Schork most admired: freelancers and local reporters whose work is often poorly paid, mostly unsung, and all too often fraught with danger. Schork was a reporter for the Reuters news service who was ambushed while on assignment in Sierra Leone. The Fund awards grants in international journalism in three categories: local reporter, freelance and news fixer. Winners must have an established track record for brave reporting on conflict, corruption, and injustice. Articles must have been published between June 1, 2021 and May 31, 2022. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
