Cigna Corporation
Category: General
DescriptionWhile the insurance Corporation’s primary funding emphasis is on health care organizations, grants are also made in three additional areas: education; arts and culture; and City Year. Health care grants target five areas: women and children’s health; healthy mind/healthy body; demographic health care disparities; youth obesity awareness; and health literacy/healthy outcomes. Most health and wellness grants are earmarked for organizations that know a health care challenge because they’ve experienced it firsthand. Funded organizations include Alex’s Lemonade Stand Fund and the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Education and arts and culture grants are awarded with a similar philosophy. City Year helps groups of young men and women to overcome the challenges of their neighborhoods.
