Tomberg Family Philanthropies

Category

: Homelessness & Poverty

Description

The Philanthropies consists of two separate charitable funds: the Marty Tomberg Charitable Fund and the Philip and Helen Brecher Charitable Fund. The Philanthropies' mission is to support well-run and effective programs that make a difference in the areas of poverty alleviation, the environment, health, and education. Because the Philanthropies have given extra support to requests in environmental and health care over the past few years, for the immediate future, they will heavily focus on poverty alleviation and education. Grants are awarded to nonprofits and certain government entities, such as public schools and universities, based in the United States for projects in the U.S. and worldwide. Emphasis is placed on supporting projects that help their recipients build capabilities themselves that will last far beyond the end of the specific period. The Philanthropies will begin accepting letters of inquiry for the 2022-2023 funding cycle in Summer 2022. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
