Save Our Seas

: Environment

The Foundation is the philanthropic idea of His Excellency Abdulmohsen Abdulmalik Al-Sheikh, a passionate scuba diver with a deep love for the marine environment and the sharks that live in it. The Foundation is committed to protecting the oceans by funding and supporting research, conservation, and education projects worldwide. The Foundation focuses its grantmaking on activities that have the capacity to make a real difference to the health of the oceans and to the survival of threatened aquatic species and habitats. Only projects targeting sharks, rays, skates, sawfishes, and chimaeras will be considered. Most of the grants fall into one or more of three major program areas: research, conservation, or education. The Foundation has two types of grants: small grants and Keystone grants. The deadline is for the small grants program. Additional information including application instructions can be found on the Web site.
