Description

The Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the professional baseball team. The Foundation supports Los Angeles-based nonprofits working in the areas of education and literacy, sports and recreation, and/or health and wellness. Education and literacy grants support access, opportunity, and innovation in education for youth at a critical engagement stage, from kindergarden through college, including reading, science, technology, engineering, mathematics activities, middle school mentoring, and college scholarships and support. Sports and recreation grants fund efforts to use baseball and softball to build community and reinforce what it means to be a team. Health and wellness grants support efforts to address health challenges that prevent children from excelling in school or recreational activities, including food insecurity, fitness, and healthy eating. Applicants must be located in the greater Los Angeles area. The geographic priority is Los Angeles County.
