Weeden Foundation
Category: Environment
DescriptionAddressing the adverse impact of growing human populations and the overuse of natural resources on the planet is the Foundation’s primary objective. The Foundation focuses its grantmaking efforts on the following areas: domestic and international biodiversity; land acquisition; population growth; and overconsumption. Of particular interest are innovative efforts to develop sustainable models for conservation actions. Projects that serve as catalysts leading others to provide support are also considered. Applicants are asked to submit a letter of inquiry first. The Board of Directors meets three times a year, usually in March, June, and October but meetings may be held at other times. Applications are due six weeks before each board meeting.
