The American Legion Child Welfare Foundation
Category: Children, Youth & Families
DescriptionThe Foundation’s foremost philanthropic priority is to provide other nonprofit organizations with a means to educate the public about the needs of children across this nation. It focuses its grantmaking on two specific areas: projects that “contribute to the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual welfare of children through the dissemination of knowledge about new and innovative organizations and/or their programs designed to benefit youth;” and those that “disseminate knowledge already possessed by well-established organizations, to the end that such information can be more adequately used by society.” All programs must show direct benefit to the children of America. Applications will be mailed to organizations requesting one only between April 1 and July 1. Request an application online.
