Description

The Foundation’s Aim High grant Program supports out-of-school programs serving middle school youth nationwide. The Program, administered by Afterschool Alliance on behalf of the Foundation, aims to help economically disadvantaged eighth-graders reach ninth grade prepared to succeed in high school. It supports afterschool, summer, and expanded learning programs. Funded programs must serve a high percentage, at least 75 percent, of low-income youth. The Foundation is expected to provide 26 awards nationwide. Of the 26, 8 grants of $50,000 per year over the span of 2 years will go to out-of-school programs with annual program budgets of $250,000 or more and annual organizational budgets of $500,000 or more. The Foundation will offer eight grants of $25,000 per year over the span of two years to programs with annual organizational budgets of $250,000 or more and will also offer 10 grants of $15,000 to organizations whose budgets are $150,000 or more and who focus on addressing opioid and other substance misuse in their community by helping youth develop protective factors and employing approaches that support youth affected by trauma and adverse childhood experiences.
