Description

The Foundation’s Alice Buffett Outstanding Teacher Awards supports up to 15 teachers and/or counselors in grades pre-K through 12 in the Omaha Public School District each year. The Awards, named for the aunt of investor Warren Buffett, honor the namesake who was a home economics teacher to students at Omaha Central High School and Benson High School. Winners will receive a $10,000 cash award, a medallion that honors the Awards’ namesake, and $1,000 in McDonald’s gift cards in support of their achievements and dedication to education in the Omaha Public School District. Nominees must be a certified Omaha Public School teacher or counselor with two or more years of teaching experience. Nominations may be submitted by current and/or former students, parents, co-workers, administrators and the public.
