DescriptionThe Foundation is dedicated to the relief of poverty through effective partnerships. The Foundation is interested in hearing about any and all projects that meet its goals and areas of interest. The Foundation’s International grants Program supports projects designed to provide food support and economic development to a number of Central American and Caribbean countries. Funded projects should address one of the following focus areas: food support, security, and sustainability; social entrepreneurship and microdevelopment; or poverty relief. Recipient organizations must be a U.S.-based nonprofit or public charity. Considered projects must be located within the following countries: Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, or Nicaragua. Grant recipients must have staff and/or partners on the ground and include local community in the project development and implementation. In the U.S., grantmaking is targeted at the Greater Metropolitan St. Louis area and eventually West Central Illinois. Read more about the programs and find additional information on the Web site.
