Wallace Global Fund
Category: Social Change
DescriptionThe Fund was inspired by the progressive vision of its initial founder, Henry A. Wallace, the former Vice President of the United States in 1942. The Fund’s mission is to promote an informed and engaged citizenry, to fight injustice, and to protect the diversity of natural systems upon which all life depends. The Fund’s philanthropic strategy is shaped by these key trends: the rise of the global corporatist state, threats to democracy and rights, ecological collapse, and power differential and weakened non-governmental organizations. The Fund’s grant-making priority areas are: Challenge Corporate Power, Defend and Renew Democracy, Protect the Environment, Promote Truth and Creative Freedom in Media, and Advance Women’s Human Rights and Empowerment. Applicants may submit letters of inquiry at any time. Additional information including application guidelines can be found on the Web site.
