Description

The Foundation funds start-up organizations and new projects of established organizations in music, education, and community organization. The Foundation aims to support the development of emerging democratic movements and communities working on issues of local democracy, justice, and sustainable energy in the rebuilding of the U.S. and global economies. The Foundation only funds secular, non-religious institutions. It is committed to helping new organizations get their starts. Priority is given to projects run on small budgets, projects of smaller organizations and projects less likely to receive corporate, institutional, or government funding. The Foundation does not fund university-based projects, schools, or organizations with budgets larger than $1 million. Applicants must submit letters of intent online. Organizations in the United States, Israel, and Palestine are eligible to apply. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
