Description

The Foundation focuses its grantmaking in two areas: youth and seniors. Youth grants support opportunities for middle school and high school age youth to achieve productive and independent lives. In this category the Foundation is focused on the needs of economically disadvantaged and at-risk youth. Under the senior program, the Foundation awards grants for programs that provide services designed to help seniors live engaged and independent lives. In this category, the Foundation gives priority to the needs of economically disadvantaged seniors and the frail elderly. The Foundation supports in-home and community-based services which help seniors to remain in their own homes. It also supports social and recreational opportunities for seniors which reduce isolation and improve quality of life. Priority is also given to transportation services which reduce barriers to independence and social engagement. Grants are awarded to nonprofits located in and serving the city of Minneapolis and the western suburban communities of Minneapolis, MN. The deadline is for applications to for senior grants; the deadline for youth grants is Feb. 15. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
