DescriptionThe Foundation works to advance the values of family medicine by promoting humanitarian, educational, and scientific initiatives that improve the health of all people. The Foundation’s Family Medicine Cares USA Program is designed to help new and existing free clinics care for the uninsured by providing grants of up to $10,000 for the purchase of needed items such as exam tables, electronic health records systems, and medical equipment. Eligible applicants must be a new clinic nearing completion of the Volunteers in Medicine clinic development process and have an Academy member serving as the medical director. Also eligible are those clinics who have family medicine residents and/or medical students involved as volunteers.
