DescriptionThe Department of Labor’s Stand Down grants support local events that assist homeless veterans by providing a wide variety of employment, social, and health services. Stand Down grant funds must be used to enhance employment and training opportunities or to promote the self-sufficiency of homeless veterans through paid work. Organizations and entities that may apply for grants funds for Stand Down events include: state and local workforce development boards; veteran services organizations; local public agencies, tribal governments; and nonprofit organizations including community and faith-based organizations.
