DescriptionThe Foundationís National Dance Project is one of the countryís major sources for funding for dance. The Project invests in artists to make new work and provides grants to the organizations that present those works on tour in their communities. The program provides a package of support that includes up to $50,000 toward the creation of a new work, approximately $10,000 in general operating support, and up to $35,000 to support a U.S. tour of the work. Preference is given to U.S. based dance artists and companies, but artist and companies based outside the U.S. may apply. Inquiry applications are available on the Web site in mid-January; the deadline for the application is March 1. Details about the project and additional information can be found on the Foundationís Web site.
