DescriptionThe scientific research honor Society, an organization of research scientists and engineers, rewards excellence in research and cooperation among scientists in all fields. The Society’s Grants-in-Aid of Research Program encourages close working relationships between students and mentors to promote scientific excellence and achievement through hands-on learning. The Program awards various grants of up to $1,000 to students from all areas of the sciences and engineering. Designated funds from the National Academy of Sciences allow for grants of up to $5,000 for astronomy research and $2,500 for vision related research. While membership in the Society is not required for funding, approximately 75 percent of Program funds are restricted for dues-paying student members or students whose project advisor is a dues-paying member. Students from any country are eligible to receive funding. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
