DescriptionThe Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the American Psychiatric Association. The Foundation’s focus is on public education, information, and outreach initiatives that promote the early recognition and treatment of mental illness. New and innovative ideas and programs that promote public awareness of mental illness, the effectiveness of treatment, and the importance of early intervention are welcomed. Eligible organizations must have been in existence for at least two years and need not be mental health programs. Grants fund both new initiatives and the expansion of current programs. Grant applications are available online.
