Petfinder Foundation
Category: Animals & Wildlife
DescriptionThe Foundation’s mission is to end the euthanasia of adoptable pets. The Foundation targets its grantmaking to three core areas: Quality of Life, Disaster and Emergency Response, and Sponsor a Pet. Quality of Life grants seek to improve the quality of life of pets while they are in shelters or with rescue groups. Grants in the Quality of Life category include enrichment products, training, pet food, vaccines, sheltering and general operating funds. Disaster and Emergency Response grants help shelters, pets, and pet owners recover in the wake of disaster. Grants are awarded to shelters caring for an influx of pets due to hoarding, puppy mill, or cruelty cases and include emergency transport and vetting and funding for structural repairs and staff overtime. Sponsor a Pet grants provide a way for shelters and rescues to fundraise for the pets in their care, and cultivate local donors to make their group more sustainable. General grant requirements include being a Petfinder member in good standing. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
